Working principle
Through mechanical or electric devices, the liquid is extracted from the storage container, and then dispersed into fine liquid droplets through the nozzle, and released in the form of spray or mist. For example, the common piston-type spray pump achieves liquid transportation and spraying by the reciprocating motion of the piston, which sucks in and presses out the liquid. Classification
Classification by power source
Electric spray pump: Powered by electricity, the pump body operates through the motor drive. Examples include small electric sprayers used in home gardening. It is convenient to operate and has relatively stable output pressure, suitable for various applications.
Pneumatic spray pump: Utilizes compressed air as the power source, causing the diaphragm or piston inside the pump to move, thereby achieving liquid spraying. It is commonly used in industrial spraying, agricultural pest control, etc., and can adapt to different viscosities of liquids.
Manual spray pump: Operated manually by human force, such as manual sprayers. By pressing or pulling the pump rod, the liquid generates pressure and is sprayed. It is suitable for small-scale spraying operations, such as household cleaning, small-scale gardening, etc.
Classification by structural type
Diaphragm pump: Transports liquid through the reciprocating motion of the diaphragm, which separates the pump body from the liquid being transported, avoiding liquid leakage. It is often used for transporting corrosive liquids or for high-precision metering applications.
Piston pump: Uses the reciprocating motion of the piston in the cylinder to suck in and discharge the liquid, with high pressure and flow rate. It is suitable for high-pressure, high-flow spray applications, such as industrial cleaning, fire sprinklers, etc.
Centrifugal pump: Generates centrifugal force by the rotation of the impeller, and sprays the liquid out to achieve transportation and spraying. It has the characteristics of large flow rate and low head, and is often used in agricultural irrigation, urban greening, etc.
Application fields
Agricultural field: Used for fertilization, spraying pesticides, irrigation, etc. in agricultural operations. It can evenly spray fertilizers, pesticides, etc. on crops, improving crop yield and quality. It can also be used for cooling and humidification in orchards, greenhouse sheds, etc.
Industrial field: Widely used in coating spraying, metal surface treatment, automobile manufacturing, electronic equipment manufacturing, etc. It can achieve uniform coating on object surfaces, improving the appearance quality and protective performance of products. It can also be used in industrial cleaning, wastewater treatment, etc.
Home and gardening field: For example, in household cleaning, it is used for spraying cleaning agents, glass water, etc.; in gardening, it is used for watering, fertilizing, pest control of flowers and plants, etc. Commonly used ones include handheld sprayers, backpack sprayers, etc.
Other fields: In the fire protection field, the spray pump is an important component of the fire protection system, used for spraying water to extinguish fires when a fire occurs; in construction, it can be used for concrete curing, wall spraying, etc.; in the food processing industry, it can be used for flavoring, spraying preservatives, etc.; in the medical and health care field, it can be used for disinfection, spraying medication, etc.
Selection considerations
Flow and pressure requirements: Determine the required spray flow rate and pressure based on the actual usage scenario to ensure the spray effect and coverage.
Liquid properties: Consider the viscosity, corrosiveness, particle size, etc. of the liquid, and select the appropriate pump body material and structure to avoid pump body damage and clogging.
Power source: Choose an electric, pneumatic or manual power source based on the usage environment and requirements for the spray pump.
Application scenarios: Different application scenarios have different requirements for spray pumps. For example, agricultural pest control requires consideration of spray uniformity and range, while industrial spraying requires consideration of spraying accuracy and efficiency, etc.
